It was on Monday morning on a bright summer day. Everybody already prepared to go to their work. It’s a regular thing for everybody who are working in Japan to wake up early because the sun already rose up at 4/30 AM. Inside a room, it took her quite some time for her to even open her eyes, but somehow after a hard try, she grumbled and managed to open her eyes, “Oh Wani… You got to wake up… You got to wake up!!” she said but inside of pushing the blanket away… she pulled it back up to cover her face before she continued to sleep…

The time was already 8.10 AM. The road on the street of Tokyo was like always. People were walking pass by towards their work or a start of another day in their life. The cars were on the road going towards the direction they were heading to but somehow in those busy time, Wani rushed her way towards the office she got to go for her first day of practical as a secretary/ Even though it was her last year there, she still have trouble to wake up early. Her sweats fell at the side of her face as she was panting for air to breathe, “Oh! I really hope I’m not that late!” she grumbled alone. She looked at her watch as the time already passed another minute. She remembers that it was her and some of her junior that was assigned to that company. She surely hope that she would arrive there first before whoever it was is there. She stopped right in front of the manager’s office before she knocks on the door but unexpectedly before she could, somebody walked out from there room.
He bowed down to the manager behind him, “Yes, sir. I’d go straight to that department right away,” he said to Mr. Fuji before he turned around and out eyes met for a short time. He smiled to her before he walked away from there. She was startled to see him there, ‘So Matsushima?!’ she grumbled in her heart. He was one of the best student in Tokyo University and she is only a student from Malaysia! Looking at him suited up well, she wonder if she could managed to get the position at the company. She looked away from him and she bowed down to Mr. Fuji when she heard him calling for her name.
Mr. Fuji called her into his office. She walked in confidently but she doubted to win against Matsu at this match. She gripped her fist and she sighed slightly. ‘Oh, just go for it!’ she said to herself before she walked inside the office.

After sometime had passed, during the lunch hour, she already managed to do her job properly somehow earlier that day. She was surprised to be put in the same department with Matsu. They barely talk to each other but every time they met, he couldn’t stop smiling to her. Wani furrowed her eyebrow. She grabbed the orange juice in front of her and she took a sip of it before her mind continue to play around with her, ‘And I wonder why is he being so nice to me?’ she said alone. She ate the curry rice she bought earlier. She knew that Matsu is younger than her but why does she felt weird when he stood so close to her?
The image of him smiling to her kept on reappearing in her mind and how she wanted to to faded away and never to reappeared again! She sighed and continued to eat her food at the cafeterias before somebody stood right beside her, “Hey Wani-chan! Finally I found you!” she heard a man spoke to her. “Mind if I join you for lunch?” he asked her. Slowly, she looked at who it was that talked to her unexpectedly.
How she was startled to see who that person was. He smiled to her as their gaze met with each other. Wani was gutted, ‘Matsushima…’ she said in her heart.

“I really hope that everything would be okay today,” Matsu said to Wani. She had a small laughter. She looked at him casually, “I hope everything would be okay for you!” she said. He looked at her strangely. “Why just me?” he asked her. Wani smile slightly, “Aren’t you everybody’s favourite?” she said. He laughed at her, “Nee Matsushima kun?” she asked him. He snorted slightly, “Just call me Sou chan and don’t worry too much! Both of us will be alright!” he said to her. She nodded her head, “Yeah right,” she replied. Wani knew that both of them don’t have anything in common at all.
She is just a regular student and he is the diamond in everybody’s heart. She looked at him enjoying his lunch and why does she felt like she wanted to get out from there? She don’t want to see his face but why she felt like she don’t want to be further away from him but unexpectedly, a beautiful girl walked to our direction. She smiled to us before she touched on Matsu’s shoulder, “Marsu kun…” she called him gently. Wani fell silent for a moment, he looked at her, “Reiko chan,” he said. Reiko laughed slightly when she just joined in with the two of them. He smiled to her. “And I didn’t expect to see you here too!” he said. Reiko flipped her beautiful long hair. She touched on Matsu’s shoulder. She leaned closer to him so she could whisper to his ear but Wani could hear her clearly. “Well. I guess I got to be where this gorgeous prince go,” she said to him.
Irritatingly, Wani just smiled to her, hiding the anger that emerged in her deepest heart. Wani smiled to her sarcastically, “Then I guess it would be a pleasant day indeed for you,” Wani said to Reiko when at the same time, Reiko gently caressed on his cheek. Matsu smiled slyly to Reiko.
Wani finished her lunch, she puts the fork she was holding ini her hand down before she looked at the two of them, “Well, I’m already done with my lunch and I think I should get going because I got something else to do,” she said to them. She lied. She just want to get out from there. Matsu looked at her direction, “But…” Matsu said. Wani just smiled to him, “Good luck for you two today,” she said to them. She stood up and turned around but accidently, she hit against somebody’s shoulder…

Wani was gutted when her shoulder’s accidently hit against that man. The man stopped walking. He looked at her sarcastically. Matsu stood up if anything would happen in between the two of them. Wani bowed down to the man, “I’m really sorry!” she said to him. Arrogantly, the man don’t even looked at her face but he replied to her irritatingly, :Next time, watch where you’re going,” he said to her. At that time how Wani felt like her life has crushed down. She just bowed down to him once again, “I’m really sorry,” she said to him again. He rolled his eyes and ignored her.
His friend walked beside him, “Hey Kento! Let’s get out from here!: his friend called out for him. Arrogantly,, walked away from there with his friend right by his side. Wani furrowed her eyebrow, “And who do you think you are, Kento san?!” she said irritatingly. Matsu walked towards her direction and stopped right beside her. He looked at her direction, “Are you okay, Wani chan?” he asked her. Wani didn’t even look at him. She heard Reiko’s heels walked towards her as well to be right beside him. Wani sighed unpleasantly, “Don’t mind me. I’ll be alright,” she said to them. She didn’t even looked at Matsu that was concerned about her. She inhaled a deep breath, “If you’ll excuse me,” she said to them and she walked away from there. She didn’t even look at their direction. She left Matsu and Reiko behind. Matsu was clueless, ‘What’s wrong with her?’ he wondered alone.
Wani walked away from there. Matsu wanted to go after her but Reiko held his hand. Matsu felt his heart pound slightly, he turned his gaze to look at Reiko. Reiko shakes her head, “Just let her go,” she said. She looked at him deep in his eyes, “Let it just be you and me right now….” She said to him. Matsu was confused for a moment. He knew that he felt nothing for Wani at that time, but…
He turned around, he pulled his hand away from Reiko, “Yeah, whatever,” he said and walked away from there. Reiko followed him somehow, desperately.

It was late in the evening. The first day of their practical wasn’t that hard but the company was quite strict with their work. It was only another hour before everybody would go back home, they were still doing their work regularly but for those students, they were too anxious to even speak to anybody. They stood right in front of Mr. Fuji and they looked at his direction. Matsu, Reiko and the other girl were already called out to be at that department but devastatingly, he said that Wani isn’t qualified to be working with them at that department. Wani was devastated at first to be parted with her ‘friends’
Matsu looked at her, “I really hope you’d do better at the other department,” Matsu said to her. Devastated, Wani just smiled to Matsu regularly. She sighed slightly, “Nah, I’ll be just fine at the other department here,” she replied him. Reiko looked at Wani sarcastically before she looked away from Wani’s direction. She smiled slightly, “Oh! Do’t worry girl! I know you can do better at the other department!” Reiko said to Wani ironically.
Mr. Fuji looked at Wani, “We’re really sorry to separate you from your group, Miss Wani,” he said to her. Wani just nodded her head. She smiled to Mr. Fuji, “Won’t worry, sir. I’ll take this as an experiment to be working here,” she replied to him. Mr. Fuji nodded his head before Wani bowed to them. The turned around and wanted to walk away from there with a broken heart. She took her first step but accidently, she hit somebody again by his shoulder as she didn’t notice that he was there. The documents that he was holding in his hand fell down on the floor.
Anxiously, she bent down spontaneously and grabbed those files before he could and she returned it back to him. She bowed down, “I’m really sorry, Sir!” she said to him. She didn’t even realize that Mr. Fuji bowed down to him. It was too silent around her. Wani turned around for a while and she was shocked to see everybody else too bowed down to the man she accidently hit against a moment ago. She felt her sweat fell downa t the side of her cheek as she too bowed down to him anxiously.
She felt her body triggered slightly, ‘The man must be somebody here…’ she said in her heart. She felt her heart started to race furiously, ‘And this is going to be a terrible start for me here…’ she said anxiously in her heart. The man in front of her looked at her from head to toe. He grabbed the document from here. He looked at Mr. Fuji, “Fuji san, where is this lady be reported to?” he asked her. Wani raised her eyebrow when it’s like she recognize that voice from somewhere… Mr. Fuji stood up and looked at the man’s direction, “She will be reported to the second floor, marketing department under Mr. Fuma,” Mr. Fuji said to him. Wani was stoned standing there, still bowed down and knowing nothing at all.
The man looked at Mr. Fuji straight forwardly, “I want her to be reported as my secretary in this department tomorrow,” he said to Mr. Fuji. Mr. Fuji bowed down his head, “Hai, Nakajima san,” he said. The man walked away from there. Wani heard his footsteps before she stood up and looked at who it was. How she was startled to see it was the man she accidently hit against at the cafeterias earlier. She sealed her eyes shut, ‘Oh! This would be trouble,’ she said silently. p
